It seemed liked they were a little on the high side, but Tuffy's is good! Unlike some other mechanics, Tuffy's actually PRINTS (not writes) out their receipts. The detailed estimate they gave me over the phone was negotiable: I said I wanted a couple things taken off, they said okay, they gave me the new price and it was exactly the same price as the receipt I signed once I got there. No high-pressure sales. Plus I got a discount for being a full-time student. If some of the other commenters had problems with Tuffy's, it was probably because they didn't know how to say no to additional repairs. I realize that no mechanic is perfect, but I just like knowing that if they do charge me too much, I have it printed out right in front of me, in detail. And the people complaining about prices are probably cheapskates. Just remember you get what you pay for. If a place has rock bottom prices, they probably have shoddy service as well.
